Reiko Aoki
Reiko Aoki is a commissioner of the Japan Fair Trade Commission, which she joined in November 2016.
She was previously a visiting professor at Hitotsubashi University’s Institute of Economic Research; a professor and executive vice president at Kyushu Univerity; a faculty fellow at the Research Institute for Economics, Trade and Industry (RIETI); and an executive member of Japan’s Council for Science and Technology Policy. She has also held academic appointments at the University of Auckland, SUNY-Stony Brook, and the Ohio State University.
She earned her bachelors from the University of Tokyo; masters degrees in mathematics from the University of Tsukuba and in public policy from Stanford University; and a PhD in economics from Stanford University.
