Andy Chen is vice chair and acting chair of the Taiwan Fair Trade Commission. He previously served as a commissioner of the commission.
His work focuses on competition law, economic regulation, and financial and economic law. His doctoral research examined the antitrust treatment of vertical restraints.
Before returning to the Taiwan Fair Trade Commission as vice chair, Chen was a professor at Chung Yuan Christian University School of Law, where he served as dean, chair of the Department of Financial and Economic Law, and director of the Office of Globalization Promotion. Earlier, he taught in the Department of Public Administration at Tamkang University.
Chen has also served on Taiwan’s Cable Radio and Television Review Committee.
Chen earned an S.J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and an LL.M. in competition and economic law from Duke University School of Law. He also earned an LL.M. in European competition law from Soochow University and an LL.B. from National Taiwan University.
