Andreas Reindl is managing partner of Van Bael & Bellis in Brussels and an honorary professor at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
His practice focuses on European Union competition law, including merger control, abuse of dominance, restrictive agreements, intellectual property and antitrust, and the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation. He advises international clients on competition issues involving product development, pricing, distribution, and regulatory compliance, with particular experience in the digital and technology, transportation, and consumer-products sectors.
Before joining Van Bael & Bellis, Reindl practiced competition law at several firms in Brussels and Washington, including Baker Botts and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He also served as a principal administrator and later a consultant in the Competition Division of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and as director of the Fordham Competition Law Institute.
Reindl has taught U.S. antitrust law, EU competition law, intellectual property law, and EU law at institutions including the University of Michigan Law School and Fordham Law School. He also serves on the board of the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union.
Reindl earned a doctorate in law from the University of Vienna and conducted doctoral research in copyright law at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law.
