Anna Claire Flowers

Anna Claire Flowers is an assistant professor of economics in the Campbell School of Business at Berry College.
Her research focuses on how economic institutions shape civil society, particularly marriage, family, religion, child care, and other voluntary associations. Her doctoral research examined the economics of child care and how regulation interacts with private responses to work and family needs. She also serves as a family policy fellow at the Archbridge Institute and has testified before state lawmakers on child-care regulation and occupational licensing.
Before joining Berry College, Flowers taught economics at the Catholic University of America and George Mason University. At George Mason, she was a fellow with the Mercatus Center, the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, and the Adam Smith Program. Earlier, she worked as a research assistant and economics tutor at Samford University and held communications roles with Americans United for Life. She also created and hosted The Dual Citizen Podcast, which explored faith and civic engagement.
Flowers earned a Ph.D. and a master’s in economics from George Mason University. She also earned a bachelor’s from Samford University.
