The Competition and Consumer Protection Year in Review: A Panel on Enforcement Policy at the FTC
At a March 2 panel in Washington, ICLE Senior Scholar Daniel J. Gilman moderated a discussion on Federal Trade Commission (FTC) enforcement policy during the first year of Andrew N. Ferguson’s chairmanship. Panelists Chris Mufarrige, director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, and Noah Joshua Phillips, partner at Cravath and former FTC commissioner, assessed how the agency’s agenda has evolved since the tenure of Lina M. Khan. The panel examined the commission’s litigation record, recent policy statements, and enforcement initiatives to evaluate what has changed—and what has remained constant—in federal antitrust and consumer-protection policy.
