Nicholas S. Economides

Nicholas Economides is a professor of economics at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where he has taught since 1990. His fields of specialization and research include the areas of networks, telecommunications, oligopoly, antitrust, product positioning, and the liquidity and organization of financial markets and exchanges.

Previously, he taught at Columbia University  from 1981-1988 and at Stanford University from 1988-1990. He is editor of Information Economics and Policy; Netnomics; the Quarterly Journal of Electronic Commerce; the Journal of Financial Transformation; and the Journal of Network Industries. He also serves on the advisory boards of the Social Science Research Network and the Economist Intelligence Unit, and is executive director of the NET Institute.

He holds a bachelor’s with first class honors from the London School of Economics, and a master’s and Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
