Heidi Biggs

Heidi Biggs is an assistant professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology School of Interactive Computing. Her research examines human-computer interaction, sustainable-design practices, and justice-oriented approaches to technology, including the social and environmental impacts of digital systems.
Before joining Georgia Tech, Biggs was a research assistant at the Pennsylvania State University. She also worked as a UX designer at Palador and lectured in the University of Washington’s Summer Institute in the Arts and Humanities. During that period, she also served as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Washington.
She held the Penn State Center for Humanities and Information Pre-Graduate Fellowship and received the Joff Hanauer Endowment for Excellence in Western Civilization award through the University of Washington Simpson Center for the Humanities.
She earned a Ph.D. in informatics from the Pennsylvania State University, a master’s in interaction design from the University of Washington, and a bachelor’s from the University of Washington.
