Elizabeth Nowicki

Elizabeth Nowicki is deputy general counsel and director of litigation at the New York State Office of Cannabis Management.

Nowicki previously served as senior counsel to the New York State Senate Majority Conference and earlier as assistant counsel to the New York State Senate. She also practiced law as an attorney at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.

In academia, she was an associate professor of law at Tulane University School of Law and a visiting associate professor at Boston University School of Law.

She began her legal career clerking for Judge James Oakes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2d Circuit and Judge Jack B. Weinstein of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

She earned a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
