ICLE Associate Director, Kristian Stout was quoted in a recent Challenges article that surveyed the competitive and regulatory challenges that Amazon.com has recently faced in the US. In particular, the article examined Amazon’s failed attempt to create a second headquarters in Queens, NY, and the attendant pushback from progressive politicians. “If I were Jeff Bezos, I would certainly consider the incentives that municipalities can offer in such a deal. If he was bringing $20 billion to Queens in return for a $2 billion or $3 billion tax inventive, it seems like a generally good deal.”
