Tom Brown

Tom Brown is partner and general counsel with Nyca Partners. Immediately prior to joining Nyca, he was the co-chair of the fintech practice and chair of the competition practice at Paul Hastings, where he remains a policy advisor.

He had earlier held partnerships with O’Melveny & Myers and Heller Ehrman; was an adjunct professor at the University of California at Berkeley School of Law; and clerked for the Hon. Diane P. Wood of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He started his career defending Visa from antitrust attack and went in-house at Visa, where he served as the catalyst for the company’s reorganization and public offering.

He is a member of the American Law Institute and the editorial board of the ABA’s Antitrust Law Journal. He graduated from the University of Chicago Law School and has an undergraduate degree from Columbia University.
