Todd J. Zywicki

Todd J. Zywicki is the George Mason University Foundation Professor of Law at the Antonin Scalia School of Law at George Mason University. He is also a senior scholar and senior fellow with the F. A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Mercatus Center, and a nonresident scholar and academic affiliate with the International Center for Law & Economics. His work focuses on law & economics, consumer credit, bankruptcy, and financial regulation.

He previously served as executive director of the Law & Economics Center at George Mason University and as director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Office of Policy Planning. He has also taught as a visiting professor at Vanderbilt University Law School and Georgetown University Law Center, and earlier taught at Boston College Law School and Mississippi College School of Law.

He served as chair of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Law & Economics in 2019. He also received the Institute for Humane Studies Charles G. Koch Outstanding IHS Alum Award.

He earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia, a master’s in economics from Clemson University, and a bachelor’s from Dartmouth College.
