Sean J. Griffith is the T.J. Maloney Chair in Business Law and professor of law at Fordham University School of Law.
His research focuses on corporate law, securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and law & economics. He is the co-author of “Ensuring Corporate Misconduct: How Liability Insurance Undermines Shareholder Litigation.”
Before joining Fordham, Griffith was an associate professor of law at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Earlier, he practiced corporate law as an associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where he focused on public-company mergers and acquisitions.
Griffith is a member of the American Law & Economics Association.
He earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review and was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law & Economics. He also earned a bachelor’s in philosophy from Sarah Lawrence College and studied at Université Paris VII.
