Nuno Garoupa

Nuno Garoupa is a professor of law and the faculty director of graduate studies at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, where he was also the former associate dean for research and faculty development.

Previously, he taught at Texas A&M University School of Law, University of Illinois College of Law, Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Portugal, and Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. He also served as president of Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos in Lisbon, Portugal, and is the current president of the European Association of Law and Economics (2014-2016).

Garoupa received his DPhil in economics from the University of York in the United Kingdom, and also holds an LLM from the University of London (UK) and an MA in political science from George Mason University.
