Mariana Tavares de Araujo

Mariana Tavares de Araujo is a partner with Levy & Salomão Advogados’ Antitrust and Compliance Practice Group in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Prior to joining Levy & Salomão, Araujo worked with the Brazilian government for nine years, four of which she served as head of the government agency in charge of antitrust enforcement and consumer-protection policy.

As a government official, she attended meetings of the OECD’s Committee on Competition and co-headed with the U.S. Justice Department the cartels subgroup of the International Competition Network. Before working for the government, she was the general counsel of a biotech firm in Brazil.

She received her Bachelor of Laws from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro and her Master of Laws from the Georgetown University Law Center.
