Janusz A. Ordover

Janusz A. Ordover was an Emeritus Professor of Economics and a former Director of the Masters in Economics Program at New York University, where he taught starting in 1973. He died Oct. 30, 2021, at the age of 75.

Ordover had a distinguished career in antitrust, serving as deputy assistant attorney general for economics in the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust division during the George HW Bush administration. Born in Poland, Ordover received a degree from Warsaw University’s department of political economy in 1966. After a year at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, Ordover came to the US in 1968 and received his PhD in economics from Columbia University in New York in 1973.
