Brian Albrecht
Brian Albrecht is chief economist of the International Center for Law & Economics (ICLE), which he joined in February 2022. In his role, he is responsible for the application and integration of theoretical and empirical economic methodologies into ICLE’s research.
He is also an assistant professor of economics in the Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University, where he has taught since 2020. Brian’s research focuses on price theory, information economics, competition and innovation, and political economy.
He has published in both academic journals, such as the Journal of Economic Methodology and the Journal of Macroeconomics, as well as popular media like the Boston Globe, The Hill, and City Journal. Brian also writes the Economic Forces newsletter for Substack and can be found on Twitter at @BrianCAlbrecht.
He earned his PhD in economics from the University of Minnesota in 2020. He previously earned his M.A. in economics, also from the University of Minnesota, and an M.Sc. in economics of public policy from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. He received his bachelor’s in physics and political science from St. Olaf College.
