Willy Mikalef is a partner at Bird & Bird Law Firm based in Paris, within the Data Protection and Technologies & Communications groups. After working at a telecommunications operator, an e-commerce world leader, an international organization, and the TMT departments of law firms in Paris and London, he joined Bird & Bird in 2013. Willy has been involved on a significant number of data transfer-related matters over the past ten years. He notably obtained the first BCRs approved post-GDPR and secured a win for one his clients before France’s Supreme Court in a high-profile case which brought important developments to the “Schrems II” debate.
