Michael A. Salinger

Michael A. Salinger is the Jacqueline J. and Arthur S. Bahr Professor of Management and professor of economics at the Boston University School of Management. He is also senior academic adviser with Charles River Associates.

From 2005 to 2007, he was director of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Bureau of Economics. Prior to his tenure at Boston University, he was an associate professor at Columbia University Business School and a staff economist in the Bureau of Economics, as well as serving on the editorial boards of the Review of Industrial Organization and the Journal of Industrial Economics. He has also served as a managing director in LECG’s Cambridge office.

He received his bachelor’s from Yale University and his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
