Adam C. Smith

Adam C. Smith is an associate professor of economics at Johnson & Wales University and a visiting scholar at the George Washington University Regulatory Studies Center.

His research focuses on public choice, political economy, regulation, institutional economics, and experimental economics. He is co-author, with Bruce Yandle, of “Bootleggers and Baptists: How Economic Forces and Moral Persuasion Interact to Shape Regulatory Politics.”

Smith earned a Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University, where he studied public choice and experimental economics, and a bachelor’s in economics from Winthrop University.
