As construction on a slew of data centers begins, including Project Jupiter, which is one of America’s largest AI infrastructure projects, activists and some policymakers are arguing that they will take up too much energy, consume too much water and pose too many infrastructure problems. Now they want local officials to impose moratoriums on these facilities.
Blanket moratoriums are not the answer.
