Second Annual Summer Retreat for Academic Affiliates

Jul 28, 2024   07:00pm PT   The Lodge at St Edward State Park, 14477 Juanita Drive Northeast, Kenmore, WA 98028

Like last year’s gathering, this event will include a mix of formal programming—this year with a focus on the theme of “law & economics beyond the law school”—as well as less structured time. It will be an opportunity for you to catch up with old friends and network with scholars newer to the discipline.

Our retreat will be Monday, July 29 – Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at The Lodge at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore, WA. A newly renovated resort in the shell of a 1930s seminary, the Lodge is just half an hour north of Seattle and sits amidst some of the densest and most tranquil forests in the region. Beyond the resort’s fine dining and heritage bars, you will have access to St. Edward State Park trails and the shores of Lake Washington, the onsite spa and fine arts gallery, pickleball and other lawn games, mountain biking, and water sports. Fifteen minutes away, the wineries of the Sammamish River Valley boast more 90+ rated vintages than any other wine region in the world.*

Last year’s gathering included important discussions about the past and future of the law & economics movement and its continued viability. These discussions facilitated new research opportunities and have shaped ICLE’s current programming, and we look forward to more of the same this year. We can’t invite everyone each year, but we think your participation is important for this to be a productive (and fun!) retreat.

We hope you will be able to join us, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Pacific Northwest in July!
