Dirk Auer Quoted in The Olive Press on Apple’s Siri AI Delay in Europe
The Olive Press quoted Dirk Auer, ICLE Director of Competition Policy, in a piece on Apple’s decision to delay the rollout of its AI-enhanced Siri features across Europe amid regulatory concerns. Dirk questioned whether EU digital regulation is delivering the consumer benefits it promises, noting that blocking an incumbent does not automatically produce alternative, deeply integrated rivals for European users.

“Deeply integrated rivals don’t materialise just because an incumbent was blocked.
“Someone chose. It wasn’t Europeans.”
