Michael E. Sykuta

Michael E. Sykuta is an associate professor at the University of Missouri’s Division of Applied Social Sciences and executive director of the Financial Research Institute. Prior to joining the faculty at Missouri in 1998, he was on faculty at the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business.
He is an affiliate scholar with the International Center for Law & Economics (ICLE) and is co-editor of the Social Science Research Network’s New Institutional Economics eJournal. He is co-founder and director of the Contracting and Organizations Research Institute (CORI), an interdisciplinary research program at the University of Missouri focused on the economics and law of contracting, organization, and corporate governance.
He earned a PhD in economics from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
